Emily did not hesitate to put the arrogant boy in his place, even sending him to the Hospital Wing at one point during their first year. Harry had started things, since he'd come into Hogwarts with a seeming burning need to annoy the hell out of the quiet Slytherin girl. There had been a lot of jabbing and insult throwing. Emily, despite her disputed heritage, was the queen of Slytherin house, and the consensus scariest witch in the entire school.Īt one point, they may have been rivals, both vying for that position of top student. Harry was the Gryffindor star seeker, winner of two (soon to be three.) Quidditch cups. The relationship between Harry Potter and Emily Riddle was a weird one. ![]() He had Transfiguration next, so he should have been walking the opposite way, but Riddle had seemed off during arithmancy, and he'd wanted to make sure she was ok. ![]() She was Emily Riddle, after all, what was an enchanted staircase to her? Nothing.Ī few steps behind Emily, Harry Potter followed with a frown. It would be a tall order, but she could handle it. She could see the moving staircase off into the distance and she cringed. She'd clawed her way atop the Slytherin hierarchy despite everything being against her, she wouldn't let them see her be weak, ever. She'd dismissed the other Slytherins, telling them she'd had something to discuss with Professor Vector, just so they wouldn't begin to suspect she was impaired. She could not get sick, she was above such things. The sea of students ahead of her almost looked like they were dancing instead of walking as she made her way down to Charms.īut she was Emily Riddle, she did not get sick. Her body was burning up, her head was thumping, and her vision was blurring.
